- Release Date: Unknown
- Production Company: Unknown
- Director: Julia Michaels
- My Role: Background Artist
I was so excited to be part of Julia’s short film production – it would be my second time on set, but my first time on an indie (independent) film. I had met Julia Michaels through theatre – first in Murder on the Nile (when she was Julia Drake), and again in Lady Windermere’s Fan.
The film was fun, taking place on a bus which drove around Windsor whilst we were filming. Once again I was a background artist, but I was happy with that. The story was about a regular commuter who had interesting fantasies about some of the other passengers. I can’t remember exactly, but I think the ending was one of the other passengers having her own fantasy. I distinctly do remember her being dressed very provocatively, with a whip and thigh-high boots (very Dominatrix style) walking down a busy suburban street in Windsor (Brisbane) nearly stopping traffic.
This was an unpaid film production (as many indie films are) and I’m not sure if Julia’s intention was to submit it to film festivals or if it was to be shown anywhere. Generally, when working on a film shoot unpaid, all those involved usually get a copy of the film which they can use for showreel purposes (kind of a visual resume). I did get a copy of the film – in VHS format. Despite searching around the internet, I am not sure if it was ever released online anywhere, and I seem to have lost contact with Julia over the years to ask. I may however, eventually convert it to digital format myself as I’d love to watch it again some day – and if I manage to contact the others involved it would be great to share online hopefully!
