- My Role: Backstage Crew

This was my second time working backstage on a production – and first time working behind the scenes on a musical theatre show. I don’t remember the show – we are talking nearly 30 years ago! – and I have no idea how I ended up working backstage on this one, but it was most likely due to being on the API Theatre Committee, and having the opportunity to work in a different role under the Director, Carolyn Kinniburgh. The program notes I worked as Stage Crew and in Set Construction.
The show only had a small cast of six performers, two of whom I did work with again later on – Julie Sibley, and Darren Lutton. I can’t really tell you much more about the show however, as I don’t even remember any of the songs. It wasn’t exactly a Broadway hit I believe, and a quick google search reminded me it was set in the 1940s and was supposedly a musical comedy. But I’ve never heard of or seen any other production company put the show on since, so I guess it wasn’t all that popular.
